Retiring Maharani and Goodwill

For the first time since we started our natural horsemanship centre, we decided to retire two of our horses. It was a very difficult, painful decision which involved a lot of discussions and back and forward.

Goodwill joined us in September 2019. We have for the past year tried all sorts of things to get her "up and running" but we have come to the conclusion that she was mentally and physically "done." Maharani came to us just before the lockdown in March 2020. We quickly realised she had a long-standing injury which prevented her from working.

Ideally, we would have wanted to keep them with us forever, but as we have limited space we knew that keeping them was preventing other horses from joining us. But there are no retirement places as such here, which made the whole decision-making process all the harder.
